Skyline Chestnuts

Skyline Chestnuts

We are closed for the 2020 season.

Skyline Chestnuts opens to the public when the ripe chestnuts start falling from the trees, typically in early October. The season lasts from 5 to 6 weeks. When the chestnuts have all been gathered we close, typically in mid to late November. You can find more specific dates just before we open each year by checking our Facebook page. See you in October 2021!

Best Time to Visit

The chestnuts begin to fall in early October. The season lasts as long as the chestnuts keep dropping, usually 4-5 weeks. Normally, the crop is at its peak and the chestnuts are easiest to gather around the third weekend of the harvest.

Wednesday through Sunday, 9:30am to 4:30pm.

It's best to arrive earlier in the day. By late afternoon, the orchard can get picked over, especially on Sundays.

The Skyline Chestnuts orchard is atop the mountain above Palo Alto, CA. Find us on Skyline Blvd, 10 miles south of the crossroad of Skyline Blvd and Woodside Rd (Hwy 84). More directions are here: (directions & map)

We have buckets and leather gloves for you to use while you're here.

We accept cash and credit. Chestnuts are $8.50/pound. We offer a discount for cash purchases, though, making them $8.00/pound.
